Institutional Aggression Essay

For questions asking you to 'outline and evaluate', you get 8 marks for outlining and 16  marks for evaluating. To get the maximum marks, you should aim to outline at least 2 theories on instituional aggression, so you can show that you're familiar with more than just 1 aspect of the research. Once you've outlined the theories, your evaluation should take up double the space. You get marks for the structure of your essay, so it's good to try to include an introduction and a conclusion.

Evaluating a theory is basically all about telling the examiner whether or not this is a good theory. You can do that by citing other research that either contradicts or supports the results of your chosen theory. Or, you could consider the research method used to tell the examiner whether the theory is generalisable, and so on (e.g.: if the study was done in a lab, it might not apply to real-life situations!)

Your structure might look something like this: Introduction
Theory 1
Evaluation of Theory 1
Theory 2
Evaluation of Theory 2
Conclusion
